Some PlayStation Plus subscribers miss out on a popular free game

As the title suggests, some PS Plus subscribers on PS4 and PS5 lose out on a free game. This week, Sony revealed its free PlayStation Plus games for April 2022, which, unlike last month, consist of not four, but three, and for some subscribers, only two. More specifically, if you’re a PS Plus subscriber in Asia, you’re set to miss out on one of this month’s PS4 games. It’s not uncommon for PlayStation Asia to have a different lineup than other regions, but they usually replace any dropped game with another free game, but not this month. This month, subscribers in this part of the world get only two games, and it is not clear why.

For the month, subscribers in Asia will get both Hood: Outlaws and Legends Beside SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini BottomThe former is the PS4/PS5 double month offer, while the latter is only available via PS4. What Asia subscribers won’t get is the best game of the month, slay the spire.

slay the spire is a roguelike deck building game from developer MegaCrit and publisher Humble Bundle. After debuting in 2017 via Steam Early Access, it was fully released in 2019 via PC. Since then, we’ve hit the PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch at various different points. As a pioneer in the roguelike deck building genre, it is widely considered one of the best games of 2019, with 89 games on Metacritic.

“We combined card games and roguelikes together to make the best single deck card generator,” reads the game’s official pitch. “Create a unique deck, encounter strange creatures, discover relics of enormous power, and kill the spire!”

As always, we will keep you updated as the situation evolves. However, with the lineup of the month set to launch next Tuesday, things aren’t likely to change as there isn’t enough time to be heard.
